CODE OF CONDUCT
While participating in BVBARRS MUN conference, delegates have a responsibility to always maintain the highest level of professionalism and diplomacy. The purpose of a Model United Nations is to model the best practices of collaboration, cooperation and constructive debate irrespective of an individual’s race, gender, political, sexual orientation or age. To that end, all delegates agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
- Respectful speech and proper written language at all times.
- No flaming or personal attacks on individual or country positions.
- Courteous behavior towards all the moderators, advisers and others assisting in the program
- No use of ‘thumbs down’ or ‘frown faces’ in the Debate Hall, unless prompted to do so by the Chair in response to audibility checks
- No use of music or other audio recordings during debate or lobbying sessions
- Timely communication with fellow Delegates
- All chat, including private chat between delegates, is archived and can be made available to Directors and Advisers on request.
- Recorded sessions, as well as associated materials used for publicity and orientations, are the property of BVBARRS MUN, and can only be used for the purposes for which they were intended.
- It is the responsibility of all participants to know and abide by the laws of the state which govern their internet use and general conduct
- Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct will result in a warning and possible suspension from BVBARRS MUN.
DRESS CODE
BVBARRS MUN kindly asks all participants to respect the dress code. A proper attire is essential in order to create the unique atmosphere of a MUN-conference.
The guidelines are as follows, and students will be expected to follow them, the staff has the right to deny participants access to the conference if not appropriately dressed:
- Men are expected to wear a suit or a jacket, formal shoes (no sneakers) and dress pants (no jeans), with a dress shirt and tie.
- Women should wear a suit, dress, and jacket, formal shoes (no sneakers), dress slacks or a skirt, with a blouse or sweater (no jeans).
